Privacy Policy

This page explains what data Avero uses, why, and how you can delete it. In short: private messages are end-to-end encrypted, we don't sell your data, and you can delete your account and everything in it whenever you want.

What data we use

  • Private messages are end-to-end encrypted: text and voice messages in private chats are locked on your device. Only you and the person you're talking to can read them, not the administrator, not Firebase, not us.
  • What we store: your username, your email (if you give one), messages in public rooms, private messages only in encrypted form, online status and reports. When you report a message, its text is shared with the administrator.
  • What we don't store: profile photos and location.
  • Where: on Google Firebase (servers in Europe).
  • Notifications: only if you turn them on; you can turn them off any time.
  • Deleting: "Delete for me" hides it only for you; "Delete for everyone" removes the message for everyone.
  • Guest accounts (username only) start from zero: when you log out, the guest account and its username are removed.
  • Accounts with email keep your conversations until you delete them yourself or delete your account.
  • Delete account and all data: in Account settings (⚙ on your profile). It permanently deletes your account, username, all your messages in rooms and private chats, voice messages, blocks, your reports and your encryption keys. Messages other people sent you stay with them, and reports other people made about you stay with the administrator for safety.
  • A private message is sent without encryption only if the other person hasn't opened Avero since encryption was added; from their next visit, everything is encrypted.
  • Partner offers: Avero stays free thanks to offers from partners (under "Offers"). If you open an offer, the partner receives only an anonymous id so it can credit the referral, never your name, email or messages. What you do on the partner's site is covered by their own terms.
  • Activity numbers: we count how many messages and new users there are each day (numbers only, never the content).
  • Ads and cookies: some parts of Avero (only the side panels, never inside chats) show ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to show and measure ads. In the EU/EEA, the UK and Switzerland this happens only if you agree in the consent message shown when you arrive, and you can change your choice at any time. Advertisers never receive your messages, name or email. More: how Google uses information from sites that use its services; you can turn off personalised ads in Google Ad Settings.
  • We don't sell your data, and your messages are never used for advertising.

Your rights

  • You can ask what data we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it.
  • Most of this you can do yourself in Account settings; for anything else, write to us.
